Can You File an AI-Generated Logo with the INPI?

The conditions for registering your AI logo as a trademark

1. Distinctiveness

2. Availability

Your logo must not resemble an earlier trademark in the same INPI class. Run a prior-rights search on INPI.fr before filing.

3. Lawfulness

1. Prepare your logo file: SVG or EPS format in black and white (colors optional), transparent background, sufficient resolution

3. Run a prior-rights search on base.marques.inpi.fr
4. File online at depot.inpi.fr — cost: €190 for 1 class (+ €40 per additional class)
5. Wait for publication: the INPI publishes your filing in the Bulletin Officiel de la Propriété Industrielle (BOPI). A 2-month opposition window opens.
6. Final registration: absent any opposition, the trademark is registered for 10 years, renewable.
