Practical logo guides by trade
Cleaning company logo: trust, vehicles and uniforms
A cleaning company walks into offices, workshops and homes. Before the first visit, the client sees your logo on a quote, an online listing, a car parked outside and the uniform of the person ringing the bell. This guide helps you choose a serious, recognizable logo for those uses, without falling back on the bubbles and sparkles the whole sector uses.

An identity that reassures, without promising more
A logo does not build trust on its own: reviews, references, punctuality and the quality of the work matter more. It can, however, signal an organized, consistent business and avoid looking improvised. The tone depends on your clients:
Offices and commercial spaces
Business clients, recurring contracts, tenders. Restraint, clean typography, one dominant color. The logo must fit in a tender document and on a badge.
Industrial cleaning
Technical environments, heavy equipment, safety. Sturdy shapes and strong contrast; the logo must stay legible on workwear and larger vehicles.
Windows and facades
A trade of precision and height. A symbol suggesting reflection, transparency or a straight line can work, as long as it stays simple.
Home cleaning
Closeness matters: a warmer tone, a name that is easy to remember and say on the phone, a reassuring logo that is not childish.
Bubbles, drops and sparkles: escaping the generic
Soap bubbles, a water drop, a broom, a shining house, sparkles: these symbols are everywhere in the sector. They say “cleaning”, but two companies in the same town end up looking alike, and the client remembers neither. A few more distinctive directions:
- Work on the initial of the name with a simple, orderly shape.
- Suggest the result rather than the tool: clear space, order, light, through a restrained geometric shape.
- Rely on strong typography, with no pictogram, if the name is short.
- Keep a single symbol, never a broom, a bubble and a house together.
Also check that your logo does not resemble that of a well-known cleaning network or franchise: confusion can lead to a dispute.
Typography: legible before elegant
The name must read on the door of a small car, a badge and an invoice header printed in the office. Favor a sans-serif typeface of medium to bold weight, with well-spaced letters. Script lettering and very thin capitals quickly lose legibility at a distance and at small sizes.
Three versions for every use
Horizontal version
Car door, quote and invoice header, website
Stacked version
Back of uniform, badge, equipment sticker
Symbol only
Online listing, booking app, avatar
Small cars and vans: visible branding, or removable
- A large name and strong contrast with the vehicle color; the phone number and website next to the logo, never inside it.
- A one-color version for cut vinyl lettering, often cheaper than a full wrap on small vehicles.
- Removable magnetic signs can help if some clients prefer discretion outside their home, or if the vehicle is also used privately.
For files and vehicle lettering preparation, the guide construction company logo covers vinyl cutting and the mockup to ask the installer for.
Uniforms and badges: recognized at the door
When a cleaner rings a client’s doorbell or checks in at a company reception, the uniform and badge are the visible proof that they work for you. Embroidered on the chest, the logo must be simple; printed large on the back, it can carry the full name. Workwear is washed often: ask your supplier for marking suited to that use. See how to prepare a logo for embroidery and how to prepare a logo for screen printing.
Quotes, invoices and official logos
On a quote, the logo signs the document without crowding the information: services, prices, terms. A horizontal version in the header and a black version for office printing are enough.
In France, for example, if your company is registered as a personal services organization (“services à la personne”), the official Service-Public guidance states that it must display the personal services logo on all its commercial materials (quotes, invoices and advertising in particular); it is downloaded from the organization’s Nova account. Plan space for that official logo next to yours, and never redraw it or merge it into your logo. These rules are French; elsewhere, check the local schemes. The sources are listed at the bottom of the page.
Digital legibility: listings, website and booking
Many clients find you through a local search, a comparison site or a booking platform, where your logo appears as a small, often round thumbnail next to reviews. The symbol alone or the stacked version works better there than the horizontal one. Check your logo at icon size on a phone: if it becomes unreadable, simplify it.
Common mistakes
- Piling up trade symbols: bubbles, broom, house and sparkles in one logo.
- Sky blue and green by reflex, without asking what will set you apart from local competitors.
- Script lettering that cannot be read on a car door or a badge.
- Putting the phone number or an official logo inside your own logo.
- Having only a color version, useless for quotes printed in black and for embroidery.
- Making promises in the logo (“number one”, “the best”) that only your reviews and contracts can demonstrate.
Creating your logo with BrandMotion Lab

- Test the chosen concept on a photo of your vehicle, on a badge mockup and as an icon on a phone.
- After the one-time payment, send the SVG or PDF to your vehicle installer and uniform supplier.
Not sure whether to choose the Logo Pack or a subscription? The Pricing page compares both paths. File formats are explained in PNG, SVG, EPS, PDF: which logo format.
Frequently asked questions
- Should a cleaning logo be blue or green?
- No. These colors suggest cleanliness, but they are so common that they do little to set you apart. Choose a dominant color that contrasts well on your vehicles and uniforms, and check that it does not make you look like a nearby competitor.
- Can I merge the French personal services logo into mine?
- No. The official “services à la personne” logo is downloaded from the registered organization’s Nova account and placed next to your logo on commercial materials. It must not be redrawn or merged with your identity.
- Do I need different logos for offices and homes?
- A single logo is better, adapted with messages and photos for each type of client. Two identities split recognition and complicate your materials.
- Which files should I provide for embroidered uniforms?
- A vector file (SVG or PDF) and a simplified version in one or two colors. The embroiderer then creates their own stitch file; the Logo Pack does not include an embroidery file.
